Some things to think about:

-Does my photographer know that a Dove Release will be part of my ceremony?
-Have we talked about how to capture beautiful photos?
-How will we help our guests understand the significance of the Dove Release?
-At what time during the ceremony would the Dove Release be most appropriate?
Traditionally, the release is done at the end of the ceremony.
-Will we want to toss the Doves into the air by hand or let them fly from the basket or cage?

Here are some tips for making the Dove Release a special part of your wedding ceremony:

1. After you have reserved your white dove release, write down the way you envision it and communicate this to us. Together we can coordinate a release that is organized, memorable and breathtaking.

2. Make sure your officiator knows you will be having a White Dove Release, and plan to help your guests understand the beautiful symbolism the Release represents to you and your spouse – the promise of a peaceful marriage, everlasting love and devotion, and the commemoration of two people "flying off" to begin their new life together.
3. Make sure your photographer knows before the day of your wedding that you will be having a White Dove Release. Do some research on the Internet under “dove releases” to see all the different styles of Dove Release photos – send the links of these websites to your photographer, including your favorite photos. This will help in capturing the perfect photos of your spectacular event!
4. Choose a beautiful poem to read before your dove release. Either have your officiator read it or choose a close friend or family member. This will make it extra special.
5. We want your White Dove Release to be as personal as possible, so please feel free to share with us your thoughts and ideas.

Here are our policies to assure the successful return home of our Doves:

1. We release only well-trained, well-cared for White Doves.
2. We do not release birds beyond a range they are unable to safely fly (approximately 100 km outside Halifax).
3. We return deposits in the event of unexpected cancellation.
4. We do not release birds indoors.
5. We perform a release only if there is sufficient daylight for a safe flight home.
6. We do not release birds in inclement weather.
7. We do not ship birds by mail for self-release.
8. We ensure that every event has at least one knowledgeable release coordinator present.
9. Also, we ensure that appropriate attire is worn for all events and that release coordinators are 100% reliable and on time.
